I. Library Entry Methods:

(1) Day Pass:

  1. Exchange a valid personal ID with a photo for a Day Pass at the Circulation Services Desk on the 3rd floor.
  2. The card is valid only for the day of issue. Please return the Day Pass when leaving the library to get your personal ID back.
  3. If the number of visitors exceeds the number of available cards, please wait for entry.

(2) Two-Year Reading Card:

  1. Required documents and fees: Valid personal ID (free for applicants holding a disability manual) and a card-making fee of NT$200.
  2. Application method: During library opening hours, bring the required documents and fees in person to the Circulation Services Desk on the 3rd floor and fill out the form for a "Two-Year Reading Pass".
  3. Validity period: Valid for 2 years from the date of issue. Upon expiration, to renew, please fill out the application form again and pay the usage fee at the 3rd-floor Circulation Services Desk.

II. Borrowing Library Resources:

Non-NSYSU personnel must apply for the library's "General Library Card" to borrow library resources. Borrowing privileges are limited to "physical collection books" of the National Sun Yat-sen University Library.

(1) Application Method:

Fill out the complete "National Sun Yat-sen University Borrowing Card Application Form" and submit it to the 3rd-floor service desk of the library.

Note: Those holding a disability manual are exempt from the annual fee, but must attach one copy of the manual.

(2) Required Documents and Fees:

  1. Borrowing Card Application Form and personal ID card.
  2. One 1-inch photo.
  3. Payment receipt for the NT$3,000 security deposit.
  4. Payment receipt for the card-making fee of NT$200 and the annual usage fee of NT$1,000 (Totaling NT$1,200).(Those holding a disability manual are exempt from the annual fee and card-making fee, but must attach one copy of the manual.)

(3) Payment Methods for License Fee and Deposit:

  1. Please print the payment slip from the Online Payment System and pay at the Bank of Taiwan or a convenience store (a handling fee will be charged), or pay via ATM transfer.
  2. Note: Please pay the security deposit to the payment category "Friends of the Library Security Deposit" (圖書館之友保證金) so that the deposit can be refunded smoothly when you no longer need the card.
  3. The card-making and annual fees should be paid to the payment category "Friends of the Library Annual Fee" (圖書館之友年費). The first application includes a card-making fee (NT$200) and an annual usage fee (NT$1,000), totaling NT$1,200. From the second year onwards, the annual fee is NT$1,000.

(4) Security Deposit Refund Application:

  1. Application method: Please fill out the "Security Deposit Refund Application Form" and submit it together with the "Security Deposit Receipt" (issued by the university's accounting office) to the library's 3rd-floor service desk or mail it to the Intelligent Operations Division. (If the original paper receipt is lost, please attach an "Affidavit for the Loss of the Original Security Deposit Receipt").
  2. Note: If there are any outstanding overdue processing fees or fines for lost/damaged books, they must be settled first; otherwise, the deposit refund cannot be processed.
  3. Refund method: The deposit will be refunded according to the university's accounting procedures (it is not refunded in cash on-site). If a Bank of Taiwan or Post Office account is provided, no handling fee is required. For other inter-bank transfers, the remittance fee will be borne by the recipient.

(5) Usage Privileges:

  1. Borrowing quota: Up to 10 volumes.
  2. Borrowing period: 30 days per checkout, with a maximum borrowing period of 90 days.
  3. Renewal:
    1. Items can be renewed online. However, if the book is reserved by another reader, it cannot be renewed.
    2. If a borrowed book is reserved by someone else, the borrowing period will be shortened, and the system will send an email notification requiring the book to be returned within 14 days for the next reader.
